We're so excited to announce our upcoming auditions for Failure: A Love Story!

DESCRIPTION:
By the end of 1928, all three Fail sisters will be dead -- expiring in reverse order, youngest to oldest, from blunt object to the head, disappearance, and finally consumption. Tuneful songs and a whimsical chorus follow the story of Nelly, Jenny June, and Gerty as they live out their lives above the family clock repair shop near the Chicago River before their time unexpectedly runs out. FAILURE is a magical, musical fable where, in the end, the power of love is far greater than any individual's successes or failures.

REHEARSALS: Mondays and Thursdays: 6:30-8:30 at ACT I.
This will be a positive and collaborative environment! I am excited to see what everyone can bring to the table.
PERFORMANCES: February 13th and 14th, 2026 at ACT I.
CHARACTERS:
-NELLY FAIL, the youngest. Her First word was “Weee” and Second word was “Yes!”
-JENNY JUNE FAIL, the middlest. Amelia Earhart is her hero. Athletic.
-GERTRUDE FAIL, the eldest. Quintessential firstborn daughter.
-JOHN N. FAIL, the brother Very dry. Very pragmatic. Droll, but big heart.
-MORTIMER MORTIMER, the lover. A "man about town." We follow his journey.
-THE CHORUS, our primary narrators.
AUDITION INFORMATION:
Please submit a video with a monologue of 30 seconds to a minute. Show choices rooted in the text (or go crazy!)
SPECIAL INTEREST:
We are looking for a few vocalists for this show. While not a musical, it does have some musical elements to it. If you've performed at ACT I or The Grand in Cartersville within the last year, it's likely Katie has seen you already and will not need additional examples of your vocal ability. Otherwise, if you're interested in singing, please be sure to include something with your video! You're welcome to submit a video from a previous audition or performance if that is easier! (If you can accompany yourself instrumentally, we'd love to know that as well!)
Please also let us know if you have any experience with puppetry.
IN-PERSON AUDITION:
On Wednesday, November 19th, we will have in person auditions. This time will be used for cold reads and to put official faces to names!
